Blossom Room

Blossom Room

For children of Preschool age (Full Time).

This is a large room located in the old games room – it has a dedicated kitchen and welcome centre. The room has comfy sofa’s, rugs, lots of fairy lights and lamps. The children have a large home corner, with mini fireplace and sofas, kitchen and plenty of role play baskets to create their own play – maybe today it will be a shop, hospital or hairdressers.

There is also a large construction/block play area where children can build without interruptions and add people or animals to their creations. Our cosy corner offers a quiet space for chatting or independent reading. The large playdough station and craft corner enables children to self-select drawing, painting, and craft which we celebrate by displaying around the room.

There is access to an outdoor space in our large courtyard garden – with a fully equipped literacy shed, play house and mud kitchen. Our sand pit and loose parts area is very popular as children create with large blocks and planks. The gates to the nature garden lead off from this courtyard and children have dedicated time in their learning about nature, mini beasts, plants and what’s growing in our pond.

We model manners and kindness towards others, respecting and tolerating others differences and celebrating our uniqueness. We share this information in our parents and carers using a daily online parental diary – called Blossom. We also use this software to share development checks and progress – calling parents regularly to update them on what their child has been learning and talk through any concerns.
